Travis High School Students to Spend Summer Abroad

FORT BEND ISD (Covering Fort Bend News) – Nine Travis High School students will spend their summer abroad as recipients of the Council on the International Educational Exchange Global Navigator scholarships. Combined, the students received more than $25,000 for summer immersion programs where they will study culture, language, arts and history.

The student winners include:

Anthony Chuka-Ipere – Spanish Foodie Culture in Alicante, Spain

Victoria Guest – Spanish Language & Culture in Seville

Dakota Iocco – Leadership Through Mandela’s Example in Cape Town

Kayla Jarvis – Spanish Language & Dominican Culture in Santiago

Jason Li – Japanese Language & Pop Culture in Tokyo

Amanda Ramirez – German Language & Culture in Berlin

Sanjay Ravindran – Spanish Language & Culture in Barcelona

Caira Thomas – Spanish Language & Culture in Madrid

Yan Tung Wong – Theater Arts Behind the Scenes in London

Nearly 50 students applied to the CIEE Global Navigator scholarship program, among the more than 15,000 students who applied nationwide.
