UPDATE: Tolling resumed at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8 on the Fort Bend Parkway, Westpark Toll Road, and Grand Parkway in Fort Bend County. Water has receded from all service roads along the toll road corridors.
FORT BEND COUNTY (Covering Fort Bend) – The Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management is encouraging people to ride on local toll roads because currently, they are safer than the surface roads, many of which are flooded.
All tolls waived on Fort Bend Parkway, Westpark Toll Road in Fort Bend County, and the Grand Parkway in Fort Bend County. Use these routes if they’re clear instead of flooded roads.
“Go home to high ground and do not drive,” said a post on the Fort Bend OEM Facebook page.
