STAFFORD (Covering Fort Bend News) – The accused killer of a Missouri City business man had pleaded guilty to murder mid-trial.

On July 17, 2014, two masked men, armed with rifles, forced their way into a high-stakes poker game in a Stafford business park. They stole approximately $20,000 and shot two men. One of those shots killed Missouri City businessman Don Leonetti. Another man was shot but survived.

Eric Norris, now 28, was the only identified suspect in the case and was charged with capital murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. In the midst of his trial, in which he faced the possibility of life without parole, he pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of murder and both aggravated crimes, receiving three life sentences which will run concurrently.  He will be eligible for parole after 30 years.
