ROSENBERG (Covering Fort Bend News) – A 22-year-old Rosenberg resident was shot and killed today, June 8, after a verbal altercation while walking on a sidewalk.
Around 4 p.m., Rosenberg police responded to the 1400 block of Bridal Path in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Taneric Weatherall, lying on the grass in front of a residence. The victim had a single gunshot wound. CPR was administered and Weatherall was taken to Oak Bend Hospital in Richmond where he was later pronounced deceased.
During the investigation, it was determined that Weatherall and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation in the 1400 block of Bridal Path. The suspect was in a vehicle during the verbal altercation while the victim was walking on the sidewalk. According to police, a single gunshot came from the vehicle striking Weatherall. At that time the suspect’s vehicle fled the scene.
The suspect was later identified as Randolph Juarez McClinton, a 25-year-old Rosenberg resident. McClinton was located by Rosenberg Police detectives and placed in custody for an outstanding murder warrant for the death of Weatherall. McClinton was transported to the Rosenberg City Jail and will be transported to the Fort Bend County Jail. McClinton has been charged with first degree murder, with a bond amount of $200,000.
