Two Fort Bend ISD Winners Named in Rockets’ Read Nation Contest

FORT BEND ISD (Covering Fort Bend News) – Two Fort Bend ISD students have been named winners of the Rockets’ 2017-18 Read Nation Contest. Whataburger presents the contest during the winter holiday season to encourage students to read at their leisure, outside of the classroom. All participants are required to keep track of the minutes they read during the contest, with the help of their parents and teachers.

This year, Fort Bend ISD has both an individual winner and a school winner named in the contest. Sullivan Elementary student, Kendall Wu, became the Overall Winner after logging 19,446 minutes of reading. Settlers Way Elementary earned Second Place in the school division after students logged a total of 165,481 minutes.

Contest officials will announce and present prizes to the award winners later this month.
