Eight FBISD Teams Earn Top Spots in Kickstart Kids Martial Arts Mania

FORT BEND ISD (Covering Fort Bend News) – Fort Bend ISD Kickstart Kids teams from eight middle schools earned top positions in this year’s Kickstart Kids Martial Arts Mania competition. Held at Paul Revere Middle School, the event welcomed demonstration teams from schools within the Southeast Texas Region. Competition judges rated the teams in karate form, choreography to music and creativity.

Teams representing the following FBISD schools placed in their respective divisions:

Advanced Level:

1st place – Hodges Bend Middle School (Instructor Amanda Meisner)

As the first-place winner in the Advanced Division, Hodges Bend Middle School earned recognition as the Southeast Texas Region Champion. The team advances to the state competition in Brazos Valley on April 21.

2nd place – Garcia Middle School (Instructor Wayne Nguyen)

3rd place – McAuliffe Middle School (Instructor Victor Guerrero)

Intermediate Level:

1st place – Dulles Middle School (Instructor Tracy Armstead)

3rd place – Sugar Land Middle School (Instructor Nelvin Celeste)

Beginner Level:

1st place – Bowie Middle School (Instructor Roberto Nunez)

2nd place – Garcia Middle School (Instructor Wayne Nguyen)

3rd place – Sartartia Middle School (Instructor Patricia Rivera)
